Transmigrated As Cannon Fodder Omega, Their Knees Bent Chapter 6

Chapter 6 - Just Like This"

When He Yunzhou came down, he saw the little fox that had escaped squatting at the doorway, facing his direction. Its pair of ears pressed against its head, looking pitiful, while its tail hung behind, appearing even more forlorn.

Little Fox: "Aow."

Helpless, He Yunzhou looked at the little fox. He hadn't even started questioning the little fellow about its escape, yet it was already feeling wronged.

"I won't hit you." He Yunzhou squatted in front of the little fox, opening his arms towards it. "Come here."

Lou Ting glanced at the nearby trash bin, with one trouser leg not yet tucked in and dangling outside. Fortunately, He Yunzhou didn't notice.

He lifted his hand and covered the little fox's eyes.

The little fox instinctively blinked, its eyelashes brushing against the palm of his hand, feeling slightly ticklish. He Yunzhou's fingertips curled slightly, and he said, "I know that wild animals don't like being kept in captivity. But it's dangerous outside now. Can you wait for a while until the situation stabilizes, and then I'll personally send you back?"

Lou Ting was typically resistant to forceful approaches. If He Yunzhou had come out aggressively, ready to fight him, Lou Ting would have been more steadfast in his own ideas. But with He Yunzhou's somewhat pitiful demeanor, it seemed a bit more difficult.

After some consideration, Lou Ting rubbed against He Yunzhou's palm.

He Yunzhou said, "So, you agree?"

The next day.

He Yunzhou had some business at his company and got up very early.

When he returned to the bedroom as usual to hold the little fox, he found that the little fox didn't want to come with him.

The refusal was quite evident. Whenever he reached out, the little ball of fur would move away to the other side.

Concerned about accidentally dropping him to the floor, He Yunzhou didn't make any further moves. Instead, he sat on the edge of the bed and asked, "What's wrong?"

Little Fox: "Aow."

Then, it curled up and lay on the bed.

He Yunzhou said, "You don't want to come to the company with me today?"

"Aow!"

"That's fine too." With many matters at the company, he might not have time to feed the little fox today. It would be better to let him stay at home.

He Yunzhou left some fox food and water for him. "I'll have snacks for you when I come back." After doing all this, he gently patted the little fox's head. Seeing that the little fox was no longer avoiding him, he knew that he had guessed right.

After He Yunzhou left, Lou Ting didn't waste any time. He immediately jumped off the bed, returned to his human form, changed his clothes, and opened the door.

Before leaving, Lou Ting suddenly hesitated. The reason he was invited to that variety show was because of his "ugly" face. If he went there like this, there was a chance he would be rejected outright since the contract hadn't been signed yet.

And the opening of the variety show was the scene where artists signed the contract with the production team.

Today's recording was also about these contents.

After careful consideration, Lou Ting decided to make a trip to the original host's home first and find the cosmetics he had used before. He applied them to his face.

As Lou Yu heard movement and ran down from upstairs, he happened to see Lou Ting applying makeup. A tinge of annoyance flashed through his eyes, and when he walked over to inquire, his voice was no different from usual, "Brother, where have you been these past few days? Why haven't you come home?"

"I had something to take care of." After a pause, he added, "Why are you still here?"

"I..." Lou Yu was still feeling resentful, and being questioned like this made him even more frustrated. He came to ask Lou Ting for money. Originally, he planned to wait for Lou Ting to come back after his divorce and give him the money. But this divorce seemed to be taking an awfully long time, and the little money he had in his hands was running out.

Lou Yu expressed his grievance, "I called you many times and sent you messages, but you never responded."

"I didn't see them," Lou Ting replied.

Lou Yu pursed his lips. It felt terrible to be ignored. If it were any other time, Lou Ting would have been chasing after him, asking what was wrong. But now... Lou Ting remained silent, and Lou Yu couldn't persist any longer. He could only take the initiative and say, "Brother, give me some money."

"I don't have any."

Frowning, Lou Yu knew best whether Lou Ting had money or not. But it wasn't appropriate to say it directly. He carefully considered his words, "But, brother..."

Before he could finish speaking, Lou Ting had finished his makeup. Without sparing Lou Yu an extra glance, he stood up and walked out.

Lou Yu hurriedly reached out to grab his hand but missed. Instead, he placed his hand on Lou Ting's shoulder and said, "Hey? Brother... Ah!"

The moment their palms touched his shoulder, Lou Ting grabbed his wrist, spun around while lowering his body, and pulled Lou Yu's hand, simultaneously turning them in a circle.

Lou Ting firmly clasped Lou Yu's wrist with his right hand.

"Ah—It hurts!" Lou Yu's hand twisted and trembled. "Let go!"

Tears streamed down Lou Yu's face as he desperately pleaded, "Lou Ting, let go of me! Otherwise, don't blame me for..."

At Lou Yu's words, Lou Ting released his hand with a gentle push. Lou Yu instantly staggered back two steps and fell to the ground.

Lou Yu looked up, full of resentment and anger. "Lou Ting, you..."

In an instant, all the curses that were about to burst out were stuck in Lou Yu's throat. Lou Ting stood at the door, looking down at him with an overwhelming sense of oppression, rendering Lou Yu unable to speak.

Lou Ting stared at him expressionlessly, his deep eyes filled with coldness. After a moment, he coldly warned in a chilling tone as he saw Lou Yu cowering, "Behave yourself."

Lou Yu trembled in fear.

Seeing this, Lou Ting released his hand and pushed him aside. Without saying a word, he walked out, conveniently closing the door behind him with a loud bang.

Lou Yu instantly fell to the ground, his face drenched in sweat. His lips quivered as he gasped for breath, gritting his teeth. "Lou Ting, how dare you treat me like this, you..."

---

Capital Star.

A sea of people gathered at the entrance of the filming location for the program "Youth Returns."

Many fans who came to support their idols crowded at the entrance just to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.

The guests participating in this show included those who had been in the industry for a long time without much fame, those who had decent popularity but needed a show to boost their reputation, as well as some famous celebrities brought in by the production team to increase the program's popularity.

At the entrance, their fans made up the majority.

Lou Ting entered through the back door and took the sightseeing elevator up to the third-floor studio.

The large flat space was divided into the stage and audience sections. By the time Lou Ting arrived, some artists had already started shooting the contract signing scene.

"Lou Ting? You're also participating in this program, what a coincidence."

Hearing the voice, Lou Ting looked over and saw a man with light yellow curls smiling at him.

The man spoke, still grinning, "Why that expression? Don't you recognize me? I'm Yu Senze. We were on 'Heartwarming Action' together before."

"Heartwarming Action" was a variety show that the original host had participated in before.

"I recognize you, it's just a bit unexpected to see you here." Although Yu Senze wasn't an A-list star, his popularity was not low. His appearance on this kind of program meant he was one of the artists meant to promote the show, making it a waste of time for him.

Yu Senze was quite happy to run into someone he knew during the show's filming. "Hey, what's so surprising about it? I just love to have fun."

The stage manager had been searching for someone and sighed when he turned around and saw Yu Senze chatting with someone else. But he couldn't afford to offend Yu Senze, so he walked over and urged him, "Senze, what are you doing here? Room six is waiting for you. Go quickly."

Yu Senze nodded and said to Lou Ting, "I'll go in first. We'll talk inside later."

"Okay." Lou Ting replied.

The stage glanced at Lou Ting and, as he looked him up and down, he vaguely felt that he looked somewhat familiar. He thought for a moment, flipped open the list of participants with their accompanying photos, and furrowed his brow, saying, "Lou Ting?"

"Yes," Lou Ting replied, "Hello."

"Tsk, I have no idea why the production team invited you," the stage manager tsked and pointed to the small room on the far left, saying, "Go there. The host is waiting for you."

After speaking, the stage manager closed the list and leisurely went to find the next person.

The room wasn't very spacious. Apart from a table set up for the host, there was only enough space for a single bar chair opposite it. The floor and walls were covered with green cloth for later chroma keying.

"Lou Ting?" The host in the room was almost falling asleep. "Go sit on the chair. The contract is on the table. Sign it and leave."

Seeing that Lou Ting didn't move, the host urged, "Hurry up! There are still many people waiting behind. Don't you appreciate being the first to sign? Oh, by the way, let me explain the process to you. When I say 'start,' lower your head and sign. Remember to hide your face; the camera will only capture your hands."

"As for not assigning you any interview content, they won't include your footage in post-production anyway. Let's not waste time. Just finish shooting and leave. If there's no footage of you in the final program, don't cause any trouble for the production team, got it?"

"Okay." It was inevitable for someone with low popularity to have missing footage.

Lou Ting stood up and walked to the bar chair, examining the slender support column.

Seeing this, the host curled up the corners of his mouth slightly and adjusted the camera's position without showing any emotion, seemingly anticipating something amusing to happen. He watched Lou Ting with suppressed laughter.

Lou Ting felt that the chair was somewhat strange. Before sitting down, he used his hand to stabilize it— the entire chair was shaky and couldn't stay still. If he sat on it, he would definitely fall along with the chair.

The host was growing impatient and urged, "Hurry up!"

Lou Ting remained silent and sat directly on the bar chair. His left leg was slightly bent, resting on the lower part of the crossbar, while the other leg was straight and planted on the ground for support.

To others, it looked like he was sitting on the chair, but in reality, all his strength was focused on his right leg.

The host was taken aback by this unexpected sight. The anticipated scene didn't unfold as he had imagined.

Lou Ting asked him, "Can we start now?"

The host withdrew his gaze and nodded, "Yes, sign your name."

Lou Ting didn't rush to sign his name. Instead, he flipped through the contract and, after confirming that there were no excessive clauses, he finally signed his name.

Setting down the pen, Lou Ting said, "Done."

"Alright, let's go," the host raised his hand, gesturing for him to leave in that direction.

As Lou Ting walked away, he paused for a moment at the door, listening to the sound of a heavy object falling and a scream from inside. He cast a contemptuous glance at the closed door.

Is that it?
